What is the Lowell Folk Festival worth to you?

As the holidays approach and the year begins to wind down, we’ve been reflecting on what the Lowell Folk Festival truly represents.

For many, it’s a weekend tradition. For others, it’s a first introduction to Lowell. For all of us, it’s a shared experience that brings people together through music, food, and culture.

Here’s a simple question we’ve been thinking about:

What is the Folk Festival worth to you?

If the festival required a $10 ticket for the entire weekend, most people would still come. Twenty hours of live music, performances from around the world, and the chance to gather as a community would easily be worth that.

But instead of charging admission, the Lowell Folk Festival has always relied on the belief that those who value it will help sustain it.

If everyone who attended the festival gave just $10, we would cover the cost of producing the event. Even if a portion of our community did, it would make a meaningful difference in ensuring the Festival’s future.

This isn’t about obligation. It’s about participation.

If the Lowell Folk Festival has brought you joy, connection, or pride in our city, we invite you to consider making a year-end contribution in the spirit of that shared value.

Thank you for being part of what makes this festival possible.
