Thank You for Sharing This Time With Us

Hello Festival Folk,

What an incredible weekend.

There is a quote I came across recently that has stayed with me: “If visual art is the decoration of space, then music is the decoration of time.”

For three days, we got to decorate a little piece of time together. We filled downtown Lowell with music and dancing, food and laughter, old traditions and new memories. Thousands of us shared the same streets, the same songs, and the same fleeting summer weekend. And then, almost as quickly as it arrived, it was over.

Thank you for spending that time with us. Whether you have been coming to the Lowell Folk Festival for decades or this was your very first year, you were part of what made this weekend so special.

Now, help us carry it forward to the 40th. Our volunteers are still counting every dollar collected by our incredible Bucket Brigade, but we already know that online donations were much lower than we hoped this year. The Lowell Folk Festival is free because this community chooses, year after year, to keep it that way.

If this weekend gave you a song you can’t stop humming, a meal you’re already thinking about having again next year, a dance with someone you love, or simply a few hours when the world felt a little more joyful, please consider donating. And next year is a particularly special one: the 40th Lowell Folk Festival. We'd really like to be able to do this again. 

One last piece of Festival business: if you didn’t get a chance to grab a Festival shirt before heading home, our online store is open! This year’s designs are available online, so you can still take a little piece of the weekend home with you.
