How to get to the Lowell Folk Festival
By Car
From Route 495 (Exit 35C) or Route 3 (Exit 30A if traveling southbound, Exit 30B if traveling northbound) to the Lowell Connector to Gorham Street (Exit 5C).
Parking at Lowell Folk Festival 2024
Parking for the Lowell Folk Festival is available throughout the city. All City parking garages will be open in addition to special event rate parking available on specific streets and regular rates in place further out from festival footprint.
Meter enforcement will be working all weekend with a specific focus on safety issues such as parking on bridges, parking on crosswalks, blockage of fire hydrants, parking within 20 feet of an intersection and wrong way parking.
Parking Meters will be in effect until 8AM to 8PM on Friday and Saturday with special on-street rates listed below on specific streets. Most on-street parking is limited to two hours, so park in a garage if you plan on staying longer than two hours.
Garage Parking: Cash and CC Accepted
The following garages will charge $20 for Parking:
- George Ayotte Garage, 11 Post Office Square.
- Joseph Downes Garage, 75 John St.
- HCID Garage, 350.4 Dutton St. * Best Bet: Easy access from Lowell Connector, Thorndike St. Walk from Garage, through National Parks Visitor Center and arrive at Market St. venue.
- Leo Roy Garage, 100 Market St.
The following garages will charge $15 for Parking:
- Lower Locks Garage, 90 Warren St
- Davidson Lot, Davidson St
- Edward Early Garage, 135 Middlesex St
Three Day Pass:
A 3-Day parking pass will be offered at the HCID Garage only. The price of the 3-Day pass is $45.00 ($15.00 savings) and is good from the start if the Folk Fest on Friday until Sunday at 6pm. The pass will allow unlimited access to the HCID garage during the festival. 3-Day passes go on sale Monday July 22nd at the HCID Parking Office, cash, check and credit card accepted.
On-Street Parking: Pay at Kiosk or Passport App
The following Steets (zones) will feature an Event Rate Parking fee of $5.00. Stay as long or as little as you like each day. This Event Rate will be in place from 5PM Friday afternoon until Sunday at 5PM on the following streets.

- Davidson St (1291)
- E. Merrimack St (1256)
- Fr. Morrissette Blvd (1259)
- Fayette St (1260)

Shuttle service will be provided form the LRTA Kennedy Center/Gallagher Terminal to the Folk Festival area at the following times.

Please note that the Roy Garage (Market St.) and the Joseph Downes Garage (John St.) will still be accessible by car throughout the weekend.
