HIGH FIDELITY

White’s Creek, Tennessee

High Fidelity is a rising bluegrass group with a love and devotion for the great bluegrass records of the 1950s and ’60s. That passion shines through in their timeless sound, capturing the essence of bluegrass and gospel. Formed in 2014, the band quickly caught the attention of the bluegrass world when they took first place in the International Band Championship at the 40th Annual Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) Awards.

The band is comprised of stellar musicians and singers steeped in the bluegrass world. Jeremy Stephens, guitarist and lead vocalist for the group, has worked for the world-famous gospel group the Chuck Wagon Gang, on the television show Ray Stevens’ Nashville, and most recently with Jesse McReynolds & the Virginia Boys. Fiddler and harmony vocalist Corrina Rose Logston Stephens has worked with a who’s who of today’s traditional-based bluegrass performers, most notably Jesse McReynolds & the Virginia Boys and Jim Lauderdale. Multi-instrumentalist and harmony vocalist Daniel Amick has won numerous instrumental contests across the southeast and is a recipient of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) 2019 Instrumentalist of the Year Momentum Award. The band itself was nominated for the IBMA New Artist of the Year Award the same year.

High Fidelity is dedicated to their community and the roots they come from. Corrina Rose Logston and Jeremy Stephens have occasionally filled in at the Grand Ole Opry, a Tennessee mainstay. The group also plays fundraisers or benefits and just released their first gospel album, Music in my Soul, in 2023, showing their dedication to not just their bluegrass roots but other musical traditions from the region they call home.

High Fidelity draws much of their inspiration from bands like Don Reno & Red Smiley, the Stanley Brothers, the Louvin Brothers, Jim & Jesse, and a host of lesser-known regional artists from the same era. Many have described them as the new Johnson Mountain Boys, interpreting classic era bluegrass through the fresh, young perspective of today’s generation.
