Mark your calendars! The Lowell Folk Festival is coming BACK on July 29, 30, and 31 2022 and plans are already underway for a bigger and better festival.
As 2021 comes to a close, we can’t help but reflect on the last two years and all of the changes that have happened in our community. The festival too will continue to change and evolve as we move forward, and we have some exciting updates and developments we will share over the next few months.
2022 marks 35 years since the founding of the Lowell Folk Festival. Every year since 1987, the festival has grown and evolved into the signature cultural event of our community. Over the years, hundreds of performers, thousands of volunteers, and millions of attendees have come to and participated in this beloved event. We are excited to honor and carry on that rich legacy as we celebrate the festival’s 35th anniversary.
The Lowell Folk Festival is one of the largest festivals of its kind, and it does so much to support the local economy and the cultural welfare of our diverse community. We cannot wait to gather in the streets of Lowell once again to celebrate our diverse city by listening to traditional music, eating delicious food from the different cultural groups of the community, and singing and dancing with one another.
As we enter the long haul of a cold and snowy New England winter, just remember that after the thaw this spring, the Lowell Folk Festival will be right around the corner! We hope to see you there.
