    For most of the past two decades, the city of Lowell has hosted one of the most innovative and varied summer concert series in the Northeast.

    The Lowell Summer Music Series is held in a historic national park and attracts topflight talent in a wide variety of musical styles. This year's lineup begins June 28 and runs through Sept. 6. Star performers include Richard Thompson, Bela Fleck, the Indigo Girls, Bruce Hornsby and Arlo Guthrie.

  • Seeking Local Food Vendors for The Lowell Folk Festival

  • Lowell, Mass. –The largest free folk festival in the nation is happening once again this summer, from July 25-27, 2008 and the City of Lowell is currently seeking applications from local for-profit food vendors to participate. The Lowell Folk Festival® has brought an international array of folk music, ethnic foods, craftspeople and artisans to New England every summer for more than 20 years.

    • Lowell Folk Festival to Take Place July 25-27, 2008


      Lowell, Mass.) -- The largest free folk festival in the nation, with continuous music on six outdoor stages, takes place July 25-27, 2008 in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts.  A complete lineup of performers, representing folk, bluegrass, gospel, world music, dance and more, appears below.  The festival takes place on six different stages in the downtown area (use 246 Market Street for GPS).  A family friendly event, the Lowell Folk Festival has presented an international array of folk music, ethnic foods, craftspeople and artisans, as well as kid’s activities to enthusiastic New England audiences every summer for over 20 years.  For more information, including, full artist bios, audio samples, maps and complete schedules, visit www.lowellfolkfestival.org.

    • 2008 Lowell Folk Festival Receives Award from National Endowment for the Arts


      Lowell, Mass. -- With just seven months before the 22nd Lowell Folk Festival takes place July 25-27, 2008, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced an award of $25,000 to support this year’s Festival.

    • Lowell Festival Foundation Announces 2007 Scholarship Recipient


      Lowell, MA Since 1996, the Lowell Festival Foundation has awarded a $500 scholarship as an acknowledgement of the contributions of the ethnic food providers at the Lowell Folk Festival and as encouragement and support to the youth who volunteer each year.
